The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

If I make it to SF, I will probably stay at the Carl, so if someone wants to share a room and costs, that would be cool.

It really doesn't matter. It's just an opinion. Don't worry about it. Not worth the hassle.

There's also - in case the Carl is short on rooms - the Red Victorian Inn, which is about four blocks from the Carl, right on Haight, even closer to my house.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

with Cass, and then we're planning an Epic Girl Road Trip from San Diego to LA (pausing to play a couple of days with LAistas) and then up to San Fran for Deb's bbq and meeting Nilly!!!
Wheeeeeeeeeeeeee!
(Cass, want to room together in San Fran and spilt the costs?)
Absofuckinglutely!

I think I might try flying to San Diego to visit a non-Buffista friend for a couple days

Kristin, Matt, Cass and anyone else who is thinking hotel in SF for Nilly!Weekend, I recommend the Carl Hotel. It's a few blocks from my house, even closer to Hec and Jz's, it's affordable (by SF standards, it's incredibly affordable), and it's charming.
Thanks Deb!

Thanks again!

Heh. You betcha. There are masses of hotels in SF - it's our main money-maker, because we're either at the top of the US destination list, or in the top five, pretty much all the time - but those are the ones close to us. If more are needed? Give a yell. I'll find.

Hey. New board.

Sigh. SO not going to be back in LA in time. Seriously doubt Nilly will stop by Mississippi. Can't afford to go, well, anywhere.

=(

I'ma miss the fun. =(

I love the Carl, great little hotel, right on the cable car line, in the Haight. Highly recommend. It's about a 5 minute cab ride from Deb's if you are too lazy to walk (like me and meara, though in our defense, we had walked all over creation that day). I'm just going to have to hope that Nilly makes it to the east coast, cause my finances won't support an SF trip. Wah!

Not the cable car, sweetie - those all run east of Van Ness Avenue, and we're in the northwest corner of the City. It's the N streetcar line that stops literally feet away from the Carl, and which runs all the way from downtown (the Embarcadero, as far east as one can go in SF) out to Ocean Beach on Judah Street - and, incidentally, right by Celia's #1, really good and really affordable Mexican food, with a bar; 'dre and I took juliana there for dinner during the Halloween festivities last year.

Of course, the Haight (just down the block from the Red Vic) has Zona Rosa, which makes yummy yummy carne molidas burritos....

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

Tim will be here, Nilly!

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

The Haight also has Amoeba. Aw, yeah.

Swouncing

Poking my head to meara:

does that schedule work for me.

Excellent.

I need to check if Tim will be here, too

Allyson, could you please do that, then? Thank you so much. [Edit: obviously an x-post. Thanks, Allyson! and, also, Yay! I can't believe this is really happening.]

I could also bring her up on Thursday that way we've got no worries about getting caught driving after sunset on Friday.

This seems like a good idea. How long is the drive between LA and SF?

Lee, the way I see it, I'll probably enjoy Allyson's hospitality for part of the LA time, and yours for the other part of the LA time. This way, I'll be a minimum burden on the both of you, I guess.

Trudy, yes, definitely. I also got an offer from msbelle, so I'm thinking I could split the time, like in LA, and be a minimal bother to each of you. Also, I'm probably already booked for the shabbat in NYC (by a friend's relatives).

There will be extremely high security, and lots of protests. It will be a good time to not be in New York.

Thanks, Tom. To not be there at all, or to not arrive, or something completely different? Right now it seems like I'll be in NYC on the Saturday of the 28th, so you're recommending I leave the city later that week?

vw, Jon, Kristin, Hil - thank you, so very much. I don't know yet the wheres and the whens, that's what I'm trying to find out, and finding out that I have so many possibilities is wonderful.

How long is a drive between Boston and NYC? And DC? How long a flight? Is there a train? Is there any recommended means of transportation, of all of these? The hivemind is the best source for this kind of questions, because it's not just technical details, it's also the personal way of seeing things.

aurelia, Nova, everybody else - I wish there were a way for me to meet all of you. I really do.

My head is spinning with all this. Again, I point you to my tagline. You guys are the bestest.
