I would kill for a "Revenge of the Jedi" poster.
There are a ton on ebay.
Plan what to do, what to wear (you can never go wrong with a corset), and get ready for the next BuffistaCon: New Orleans! May 20-22, 2005!

Yeah, but PayPal doesn't accept killings. For that you need SlayPal.
All the movie theatres in Cincinnati got promotional cups and popcorn buckets to use in the late spring and through the summer as a tie in. Then they pushed the movie to a Holiday release.
All that modigying, gone to waste... sniff, sniff
This far out, any date is equally copacetic to me, but I would prefer not to try to coordinate the F2F with the release of "Firefly" because of the shifting release dates factor.
I agree. We can make it a mini event within the F2F if we want to, but I don't think that we should plan the F2F around it, particularly with it so far before the original date. I mean if the release date was May 14, then I'd say _consider_ it, but moving the F2F up a month and the ensuing problems isn't worth it, IMNSHO.
I found the cruise ship info:
Carnival is a party ship – think sandals resorts type of hotel – fun fun fun Fun fun fun is the emphasis
NCL Norwegian Caribbean Line Is more upscale from carnival – think hyatt hotel
Princess is more upscale from that Think grand hyatt
Figure out how crazy your group is And what type of experience they want Don’t get stuck with a lot of senior citizens on a more mature ship/sailing Decide what ports would be most interesting to the group Make sure it’s a newer ship whatever you pick – very important Also the size of the ship
I personally think a carnival cruise would suite buffistas Better than the others You can get down and no one will care
edit to fix odd lines
Just chiming in again to say that I'd still be in class June 4th anyway, so I really have no strong preference for the May vs. June choice. Whatever works better for the most people is fine with me.
Part of me thinks a cruise would be a great idea. I think it'd be grand fun. But every year, we have people who move mountains to swing affording the F2F via plotting out creative transportation and lodging strategies. Flexiblity on arrival and departure has also allowed some folk to particpate who couldn't make the whole weekend. I don't want to do anything that blocks that, and it seems to me like a cruise would.
I think the biggest hindrance would be arrival/departure limits. Some folks come in as late as Saturday morning and leave again first thing Sunday. A cruise wouldn't let that happen.
I'd love to do a cruise, perhaps a smaller group of us can plan one and not make it the big F2F event.

Good idea. I have a deathly fear of big deep water that I can't see to the bottom of, and of being out on that water in such a way as to not be able to see land. There is no way I could ever go on a cruise without having a psychotic break.
Which might be entertaining for all of you, but really, I'll pass.
