F2F 2: Is there anybody here that hasn't slept together?

Plan what to do, what to wear (you can never go wrong with a corset), and get ready for the next BuffistaCon: New Orleans! May 20-22, 2005!

Dammit, I was going to make that joke.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

What problems do we have with saying May 21-22?

Want a huge can of worms? We just found out yesterday that the Firefly movie opens on April 22. Should we consider reopening the discussion/poll to allow for seeing opening day as a group? Or just let it go?

None! Do it!

Well.... I think the 21st may be early enough that some people are still in classes or finals, so I think saying none is a bit premature.

However, I'm not sure everybody who has to worry about classes will be out by the 4th, so maybe we should give it another day or two to discuss in-thread. Can we announce a solid date some time next week, and still be okay with everything? (Some people don't check in on weekends, either)

Woe to the fucking wicked.

Deena, make sure the packing's done before you hand it to him. I have a piece of paper with a couple important phone numbers somewhere in my stuff.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Personally, I don't want the F2F to be centered around Firefly. But that's just me.

Our wings are not tired

Yes, the intent is very much to be discussing in thread.

As of yet there has actually been very little discussion, so hopefully it will happen. If none happens I'll announce the date next week.

We talked about earlier a little bit and it seems the consensus was that going much earlier makes things very difficult for the teacher/student types on the board.

This may be true, but it's the weekend we landed on this year, and it seemed to work pretty well for many of our student types.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

Keep it in May, and consider that an additional viewing of Serenity with a group of Buffistas might be a fun activity.

It really doesn't matter. It's just an opinion. Don't worry about it. Not worth the hassle.

Personally, I don't want the F2F to be centered around Firefly. But that's just me.

Not just you. I am not in the Firefly-love contingent. But I can always find something else to do, that will likely involve food, shopping, music or all of the above.

Yeah, I know that (and, actually, my semester ends that day, so I'm all too aware of it for my own case) -- but since this is something that came up so late in the poll, I wanted to be sure it was thrown out there before we declared anything final, just in case people wanted to go that way. If not, no big.

Our wings are not tired

Also, given a year, there's a very good chance the release date of the movie could be shifted.
