No, we have not decided on a place, that's still a couple of months away, we're narrowing the field on places on July 15th.
The two dates I posted are a starting point. Those are the ones that line up most closely with what we've done in the past. Pushing much earlier than that means that our student/teaching Buffistas are still in classes.
No decision on place yet. We don't have to have that firmed up just yet. We're still in the brainstorming phase.
But as ND mentioned, nailing down dates, inasmuch as we can, is beneficial when opening discussion up with the hotels at any location.
And though there's drawback to these weekends, we should still give some consideration to the weekends of April 30th and June 4th.
June 4th could be good. We'll be clear for many teacher/student types and being later may open it up to some new people.
The downside being that by June 4th, tourist season will be in full swing, possibly making booking more difficult.
If we do a move out of May, I agree with Trudy, June 4th would be better than April 30th.
It does push us into the summer travel season though. More folks out there on vacation once we hit June.
Although May Day seems appropriate somehow...
I have no problem with any of the dates, including June 4. However, New Orleans in June is not my idea of a good time. Some other non-equatorial city on June 4, no problem.
I think that, of all the dates proposed, the weekend of the 28th would work out best for me, but we might have issues then because of Memorial Day.
New Orleans is sorta the earlier the better, yes?
For the moment let's keep dates apart from location. I know that some of our locations would be much more pleasant earlier in the year, but the BS consensus seemed to be that pushing much earlier than May could eliminate a good sized portion of folks as we have lots of students and teachers and such.
