Just for fun (and not to in any way draw attention from this video I really want to see), I did a little search of Cleveland attractions I thought people might find fun.
There's a haunted house tour that looks interesting. Geauga Lake, which sold out to Six Flags, which bought SeaWorld, which then sold the whole shebang to Geauga Lake again. There's the Zoo, which, they say, has the largest primate collection in North American.
And then there's:
- winery tours
- A different museum for every taste, including Cleveland Museum of Art, Cleveland Museum of Natural History, Polka Hall of Fame, Crawford Auto and Aviation Museum, Dittrick Museum of Medical History, Great Lakes Science Center, Int'l Women's Air and Space Museum, NASA Lewis Visitor Center, Football Hall of Fame, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Steamship William G. Mather, U.S.S. Cod Submarine, the Botanical Gardens, the Children's Museum and more.
- Cemetary tours, including Lakeview Cemetary where James A. Garfield is buried.
- The Metro Parks, including the Cultural Gardens, where most, if not all, of the cultures represented in Cleveland have their own little shrine.
- Racing, including Northfield Park, harness Racing; Thistledown Racing Club, thoroughbred racing; Norwalk Raceway Park, car races.
- Yacht charters on the lake and carriage rides around Public Square, --the center of town-- with amazing architecture, the war memorial, and theaters.
- Cleveland Orchestra
- Goodtime III dinner/dance cruises, $15.00 per person (prom?).
- The Flats (clubs on the river; microbreweries; Howl at the Moon; The Improv; Flanagan's Wake; Men of Steel, an all-male revue; Circus, a strip club; Power Station, a bar with millions of electronic games)
- Little Italy (Italian culture, architecture, antiques and amazing Italian food)
- Theaters: Beck Center (ambitious community theater), The Cleveland Play house (professional), Cleveland Public (avant garde), Doboma's (defies classification), Halle Theatre (Kosher), Karamu (African American), Red Hen Productions (Womyn-centric) Wishhounds (pushes the envelope), and more
- A ton of good ethnic restaurants
There's a lot more to do around here than I thought. I even found a tiki bar, though I have not yet found karaoke. I'm sure it's here somewhere.
