"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

If people are really interested in Nashville, I could be the point person. I don't live there now, but my family lives there and I go there five or six times a year. I could coordinate family visit with hotel inspections. I suspect that Nashville is not going to be cheaper, however, because it's both a convention and a tourist town. The cheapest hotel rates are usually in convention-oriented towns like Atlanta and even Vegas, because the hotels have rooms to fill on the weekends. There is a fair amount to do in Nashville and some great music, but there is effectively no public transportation.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

still waiting for the rest of Beverly's report

Is Chicago off the list because we already went there? Because it was cheap and convenient to just about everybody. Plus things to do.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Hey kids. I'm at home sick, enjoying all the debate about next year and watching Batman Forever halfheartedly.

ND, thanks so much for stepping forward to take point. There is no end to the rockingness of you. Sorry your flight back sucked.

smonster & amyth, I did not know until the moment you left that you were planning to take the recycling back with you. Wahh!! Had I known, you would've had several giant bags.

Damn, there was more? I thought that seemed like a small amount. Sorry...

Not that I'm likely to be around this time next year, of course

I'm getting the pig!

If anyone is interested in Denver as an option, I would be more than willing to plan it. Very little humidity and temps range from 70 - 88 during May.

If not Denver, then so far my top two choices would be Minneapolis and Cleveland.

If we keep moving it around a wider variety of people will, eventually, be able to attend.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

I don't know why, but I keep feeling like my city is being unfairly maligned for its weather and crime.

It's really not the Tennessee Williams-sweltering-all-you-can-do-is-drink-mint-juleps-because-its-so-freaking-hot, it's being made to sound like.

And St. Louis, Dallas, Atlanta and Orlando all have higher crime rates than New Orleans.

Ann, that's a ferret.

Is Chicago off the list because we already went there?

I for one wouldn't object to Chicago, but what Trudy said. And the more mobile can see new places.
