Yes, it's terribly simple. The good guys are always stalwart and true, the bad guys are easily distinguished by their pointy horns or black hats, and, uh, we always defeat them and save the day. No one ever dies, and everybody lives happily ever after.

Our wings are not tired

So, here's the two big overall dates that I'd like to set. I know they will sound early, but trust me on this, it's really a good idea, I've been working with booking conferences for a few years.

Sept. 1, our city is chosen. This is also when our local point person comes in.

Nov. 1, hotel chosen and ballroom/hosp suite booked.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

When do you want city proposals, ND?

edit: I mean, when should we have the narrow list of possibilities, and when should those possiblities turn in their proposals.

Look at me, I'm all cryptic and stuff.

Let's split the time and say July 15 for the narrowing of cities. We can bat around ideas as far out as mars until then. July 15 we'll narrow it down to the top 3 or 4.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I vote Mars.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Sounds good. Gives enough time both for batting around ideas and for figuring out the final choice. And I agree with everyone who's been saying they'd rather get this planned early.

Up with the sun

I dunno, is Mars in the midwest?

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

I vote Mars.

Seconded. We even have a local point-person. Er, rover.

We'll go to the midwest of mars. Lori can help.

I was charmed (albeit somewhat perplexed) by the fannish sensibility of many of the music choices -- it's like the director was trying to vid Canada. --loligo on the Olympic Opening Ceremonies

I dunno, is Mars in the midwest?

According to the Little League, it's in Virginia.

The status is NOT quo.

I think this is an excellent plan.
