Plan what to do, what to wear (you can never go wrong with a corset), and get ready for the next BuffistaCon: New Orleans! May 20-22, 2005!

I could get the page with the links, but I don't have quicktime on this computer so I can't say whether the movies work.
Jess, tried it on Netscape and IE. No go.
Grrrrrrr.
Well, it was worth a shot. I'll try again later at home.
You know the pandas weren't dead at the zoo. Well one was draped over a rock looking like a trophy.
But the other was moving rhythmically back and forth on the rock. It took a great deal of will power not to loudly exclaim "omigod ! The panda is jacking off!" There were children around. Oddly enough once I got around Buffistas I found that I got embarrassed when I tried to say the panda was jacking off and I got coy about it.
I am so enjoying reading all the F2F accounts. And I had some of the same "lack of new people freakout" Hil was talking about. I had a moment of shyness/panic when I first walked into Anne's, but it passed basically as soon as I introduced myself to DX. And we are a damn vibrant, wonderful group and I cannot wait for some F2F where I'll have more time to talk to y'all.
I didn't even recognize Lizard when I first saw her and I've both (a) talked to her on the phone and (b) seen roughly ninety billion pictures of her. But she was so womanly!
She is! La Liz is a grown-up, and gorgeous. I recognized her, but it took me a second 'cos I didn't remember she was blonde now.
Really, it surprised me how many people I recognized from photos/descriptions/Just Knowing.
(Holli is also a grown-up and gorgeous, of course.)
Oh, and: lyrajane on LiveJournal, elisabeth9778 on AIM. Feel free to add me.
LyraJane is *so* pretty, by the way. She looks like how I always envisioned princesses when I was a little kid -- something about her facial structure, kind of delicate (or maybe I mean perfectly proportioned -- I *love* her nose!), and then that incredible rosy glow and beautiful eyes.
She and her hubby are like Princess and Prince Charming -- especially with hubby in a tux for Prom.
Wow! Buffistas are great!
I have to admit I was very nervous driving to DC to meet a whole bunch of people I did not know. And I was happy, once I met you all, to find that there was not one axe murderer in the whole bunch! (At least none that showed themselves.)
I have never posted to a thread before, but I wanted to tell you folks what a wonderful time I had, and how welcome you made me feel. I know I only met a handful of the community, but what a representation you had there. They were all so nice, that I felt like I had been posting with you guys for years!
The prom through the eyes of an outsider, turned insider, was spectacular. One of the best parties I have ever been to. And even before and after the party they were all great. Here is a view from someone who had no expectation of known personalities from the board. I hope every one of you gets to go to one of these F2F’s sometime.
First, for those of you who have not met Kate P, she is so nice and has an infectious laugh, and a smile that literally lights up a room. Aimee and Lee, along with Miracleman, and ND kept us laughing until we cried, Thursday night. (Shhhhh! Don’t ask about the pope.) On Friday they added Sean and Trudy to the mix and the antics went on from there! Hil had some great funny stories, and she along with Smonster, Kristin, LyraJane, Meara, Teppy, Vortex, Debetesse, Katefate, Kate P, Aimee, Lee, Cass and all the rest kept the prom dance floor hoppin. I learned a new word: “macking”, and all the ladies seemed to really enjoy giving and receiving a good macking. Oh, and not to forget the glitter fairies! By the end of the prom everybody sparkled… It was a very “shiny” party.
Java did lots of hard work getting the hotel scheduled, and saved the roof patio from being closed during the prom. It was so nice to be able to go outside and talk to folks, then go back in for dancing and drinks. The couples that came added a different spice to the mix and we all had a lot of fun. Hec and JZ of course were very busy greeting every one and looked so happy (sigh). Laura and Brendon were really very nice and we got to talk to them for quite a while. FredPete and Hubs were absolutely perfect and I loved talking to Hubs. He is such a fun guy.
The DC Buffistas did a terrific job helping everyone decide what to do, where to go do it and how to get there.
t Jumping up and down, clapping my hands and yelling, thank you DC Buffistas!
I am sorry that this was such a long post, but it is my first. I wish I could give each of you a view into what I saw of your friends. It was a great place, a great time, and you are all a special bunch of Buffistas. Thank you for making me feel like one of the crowd!
Bicyclospouse!!!
t rushes to be first to tacklehug cab
Yay for your first post! I loved meeting you! You and bicyclops are a wonderful pair.
You are so right giving props to Java for keeping the terrace open for the prom. It meant a lot to me to be able to take a break from the intensity of the penthouse for a breath of fresh air.
In addition to being one of our hotel saviors, Java is lovely, both in person and affect. She is one of those people who make you feel good just being around them.
