I'm not evil again. Why does everyone think that?

F2F 2: Is there anybody here that hasn't slept together?

Plan what to do, what to wear (you can never go wrong with a corset), and get ready for the next BuffistaCon: New Orleans! May 20-22, 2005!

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I'm confused. What am I right about?

Didn't you call that whole "world is round" thing? You've got game.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

What am I right about?

Everything. That should cover it, and also befits your shiny new medal.

Oh, and save some floor space for me, Kristin. I only require feeding once a day, and minimal amounts of water. Much easier than a houseplant.

The status is NOT quo.

Well it's settled then. It doesn't have to be a big production or anything. I'm throwing a Buffista party in August. Anyone who wants to attend is welcome. There are a few beds, some floor, and a lot of outside room for tents. Date TBA.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

When Hec and JZ are back, they can weigh in on NOLA in mid-May. But if DC in mid-May was humid enough to melt Sean, NOLA will kill him....

DC was actually hotter and more humid than New Orleans, but that's only one anecdote.

Jacqueline and I got home a few hours ago. So fun to catch up on pictures.

It was so wonderful meeting people I've known online for such a long time. I put dibs on Lizard and Holli and dragged them off to dinner with me.

I didn't even recognize Lizard when I first saw her and I've both (a) talked to her on the phone and (b) seen roughly ninety billion pictures of her. But she was so womanly! She and Reema had so much fun. Really enjoyed spending time with them in person.

Most fun having? Impossible to say, but JohnSweden and Askye looked almost delirious with "Wow! I can't believe I'm here and doing this!"

Most fun bringing? Smonster brought big fun to the Prom all night long. Go Smonster!

Photos don't do justice to Vortex - so fucking gorgeous. Hil's utter adorability is also poorly conveyed via pictures.

I got to meet Holli! I spent a big chunk of time with her grilling her with questions about her boyfriend. I love Holli - she totally indulged my interrogations and teasing.

I got to hug Beverly! Beverly gave us a very thoughtful wedding present, and Ginger gave us some a piece of art from her extensive collection.

Fantastic, obviously to see old friends, and meet up with longtime posting folks for the first time. But I'll probably associate this F2F with meeting people that I've only known for a little bit on the board.

Raquel did such a fantastic job on the medals (as did Deena). And she was so cool and gracious and beautiful. JZ (who had done them all to date) enthusiastically approved of their craftsmanship.

Maria was wonderful - I loved meeting her and getting a chance to talk with her. She really extended herself to the group, and looked after a certain Extremely Drunk and Fun Having Person. She rocked.

DebetEsse was foamy as hell and so sweet hearted and charming.

KristinT - Okay, she might've had as much fun as JohnSweden and Askye. Oh, and she's everything in person that she is on the boards - fun and gracious and warm and kind.

It was great seeing Kate P. again - who I hardly ever get to see on the boards. She looked unbelievably beautiful at Prom.

So I apologize sincerely for hogging up some of the Buffistas at our wedding, because I know that meant at least some of them couldn't make the F2F this year.

Having been to all three F2Fs now, while the first one had a strong theme of BiCurious Girls Go Wild, and the second the infamous Kitchen of Porn, this one had a nearly wholesome free for all quality of dance floor mackage, with all kinds of combinations. Delectable!

Many many thanks to Java Cat - I was very happy to invite her up to receive her medal.

Our wings are not tired

I only require feeding once a day, and minimal amounts of water.

This applies to me as well, water can be minimal, but Ketel One tends to vanish quite rapidly.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

It's true. I'm still disappointed I didn't get a photo of the first pair of shoes she was wearing.

Dammit, David. You've made my allergies act up again. I hope this isn't chronic. I had a fabulous time basking in the glow that surrounds both you and JZ. Again, my only regret is that there wasn't enough time. (IWRY seems to be the perfect episode to encapsule the weekend, with the exception that we will most certainly remember every last detail for the duration.)

This is just another reason, among many, to visit SF again in the near future. I envision great fun dissecting pop culture.

"There's not enough time!" - Buffy.

But there never is at the F2F. Which is why people find each other in smaller groupings throughout the year and get so eager for the next F2F.

Excellent! Can't wait to show you around, and show you off to some of the localistas. I know Lyra and Patrick were planning on coming this way soon, which is a wonderful bonus because I barely got to talk to her in DC.

Btw, Java (or anybody else) do you know what happened to the Buffista medals that need to be mailed to their non-attending recipients? Because...we need to mail them off. I presume somebody collected them from the hospitality suite, but I was disinclined to drag them back to New Orleans then back to SF.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Y'know what I've just realized? I'm considering applying to Teach for America for next year. I was getting a little nervous about moving to a new city where I didn't know anyone. I just realized that every city I've considered putting as somewhere I'd be willing to teach has at least one Buffista that I met this weekend.
