Maria, I'm so sorry to hear that!
Also, I'm at the air and space museum right now, it's amazing. I seem to have lost the rest of the group that came here though.
Plan what to do, what to wear (you can never go wrong with a corset), and get ready for the next BuffistaCon: New Orleans! May 20-22, 2005!

But really the pictures in the first group where everyone is sitting around a table at Anne's with thier laptops - priceless.
Really Kate here.
Maria, I'm so sorry to hear of this sadness. Best thoughts to all involved.
Thank you everybody. Ironically, it happened around the same time I was driving home from the hotel. IIRC, I was passing the exact area and vaguely remember hearing sirens. I just talked to his parents, and as much as I hurt, they are completely torn apart.
I hate this. I. hate. this. Why do teenagers think they are indestructible? He was tempting fate from the start: driving after midnight on a restricted license, left the house without his parent's knowledge, and speeding on wet roads. Now a lot of people are grieving because consequences are the last thing a 17 year-old thinks of. I'm angry, not because of what he did, but because we'll never get to see the kind of person he'd become. Even with this sense of invincibility, he was a good kid who was going to turn out just fine.
Bleh, I know this doesn't make any sense, but I'm all over the place right now. Thanks for listening.
{{{Maria}}} peace and strength to you, the BF and the family. I'm so sorry.
{{{Maria}}} I'm so sorry, for both you, him, and everyone he was connected to.
God, I was just on the phone with my seventeen-year-old brother, talking about his future and what he wanted to do with his life. I don't even want to imagine having his life cut short like that.
{{{Maria}}}
{{{Maria}}} Much -ma to you and to everyone who knew him.
Dinner with Buffistas, it's grand!
