F2F 2: Is there anybody here that hasn't slept together?

Plan what to do, what to wear (you can never go wrong with a corset), and get ready for the next BuffistaCon: New Orleans! May 20-22, 2005!

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I would like to go back to the Wall. The Holocaust Museum I can't do this trip. Really, I think the HM is a two day thing - you need to not be doing anything that night, or much of anything the next day, just to have time to absorb and understand.

Um, the block where the pool hall and the kareoke bar are, where is that in relation to the hotel? I am not bringing my car, and I want to know if I'll need to catch a ride to/from pool.

It's in Crystal City, at the Crystal City metro stop on the yellow/blue line, Sheryl...23rd Street.

I have a nasty feeling that I'm going to have a very hard time choosing between different activities.

ALWAYS a problem. And the nagging feeling that you're missing TONS of fun every time you're forced to pause, nap, sit, eat, whatever...

Does either the darts/pool bar or karaoke bar serve food beyond bar snacks? I don't need a three course meal, just something more substantial than mixed nuts.

I'm sure the sports pub sells food, and I know the karaoke place does, but they're not especially GOOD food. There's other places on the same block though, so you can get Subway or greek or mexican or whatever.

Will add wigs to packing list (I have black punk rocker from when I was Death - boy that's weird to type - and looooong blonde from being Buffy).

Ooh, I wanna try on wigs!

OK, reading about all the packing? I suddenly realized the BEST PART of this WHOLE F2F! I dont' have to PACK anything, I can have whatever I want!!

there's always Dream Dresser, here in town. If you were going on the Lush outing, it's also in Georgetown.

Dear God, I just realized that not only is there a Lush, Sephora, B&N, MAC, Kiehl's, and Commander Salamander and H&M in Georgetown? There's also a Pleasure Place and Dream Dresser. Eeek. Buffista outing!

Yup, just Holli on the nametag. And my friend's name is Shira

Didn't she have an LJ at some point? (Or possibly, still have one but I haven't read it since the days when I had like, 5 people on my friends list, now I can't keep up with my own friends...)

Laura Holt & Brendon

Drop the Holt please since I am attending with Brendon instead of Remington. Thank you.

I went to Dillards to try and find a dress. I tried on 10. I liked 3. I bought none. I didn't like any of them that much. Blah. I hate shopping.

move out and draw fire

(high-fives meara!)

I am sans tiara, alas. And I doubt I'll have time to shop for one beforehand, so maybe I could borrow?

Toddson, yes! The Phillips Collection. Thank you. I had a complete mental lapse. Dumbarton Oaks is also nice, but currently populated by many many cicadas (I was there last week).

First time I went to the Pleasure Chest in DC, I was really really struck by the difference from the one in Hollywood. This one was so quiet and everybody seemed really uncomfortable. Then I went to try something on, and in the stall next to me was a man trying on red patent stilleto heels. I was so relieved.

As far as the pool hall/karaoke, not only do those places do food, but there's a strip of generally very good restaurants around them.

(still don't know what I'm wearing to Prom. Odds are that whatever it is will be black, though).

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

'Nother question about the Friday night pool/karaoke Crystal City plans -- is there anyone who can give me a ride back to Chevy Chase at the end of the evening? I can take a cab otherwise, but I thought I'd ask just in case. My house is five minutes from the Beltway, so hopefully it's on someone else's way home.

(It turns out that my parents will be out at my brother's school play that evening, and so going home to see them and then out again doesn't make sense, since they won't be there. So I've decided to come straight to the bar, with a possible stop at the hotel first, and see them in the morning.)

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Do we have a deal with the hotel with respect to parking? I'll have a rental.

smonster - May 19, 2004 3:27:53 am PDT #2577 of 9999
We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

IIRC, parking at the hotel is $22 dollars a night. meara said something about there being onstreet parking. meara, doll, is that right?

Having said that, the tiara-er, like many Buffistas, has had an unfuckingbelievably stressful past 6 months (maybe 9?), so I'm not trying to be a horrible bitch.

OMFG. Wishing I hadn't said anything.

Dear tiar-er,

Please do not go out of your way. Your mental health and well-being is far more important than a tiara. I will be happy to see you at the f2f, whoever you are, and I hope that your time of stress is coming to a close.

love, smonster

I forget which karaoke and darts place we decided on, but other possibilities would be the Car Wash/Rocklands BBQ, which has good food, and Dr. Dremo, which has bar food but good bar food, and good draught beers, and pool tables. But I really don't know the Crystal City places.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

One thing I forgot to tell those who are staying with me and/or coming to the party tomorrow.

I have a small, friendly orange tabby. He loves people and is a master manipulator. He will tell you that he wants to go outside and that this is okay, since he really is an outdoor kitty, honest and for true.

He is lying.
