Isn't there a contingent that is staying at the hotel, rather than doing a field trip on Saturday afternoon? Maybe you can meet up with them.
Field trip people might be difficult to synchronize watches with.

I'd be perfectly happy to meet field-trippers out and about for dinner after they finish field-tripping. I don't mind having a couple of hours to relax in the hotel before meeting anyone. Whatever is easiest, though.
