move out and draw fire

Um, I guess I'm heading up the food/beverage strike team of DCistas. Early estimates are $20.00/person, but that's based solely on the amount we have to get from the hotel and the number of people attending from Java Cat's list. We'll know more details after next weekend, but I don't think there will be too much change from that price.

Up with the sun

I don't want to step on raquel's toes, but I do have the hotel's menu bookmarked; it's here, ewith appetizery stuff starting on pg. 12.

Because most of us will have already eaten, my preference would be a selection of cold canapes ($250), a medium fruit and cheese tray ($325, serves 75-125; the smaller one is 25-75 and $250. I'm inclined to go larger because it looks like our guest count will be borderline.), and something from the hot menu, maybe chicken satay? ($250).

Total: $825, plus 30% tax and service ($247.50) comes to $1072.50. Divide that by 70 tickets, and we're at about $15.50. Adding in the $4.50 to cover the bartender and any hudden costs, keeping ticket price at $20, would make sense to me.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Where exactly is the Prom? I need to call the hotel about the P.A. situation, but don't want to sound like a complete ignoramus.

Oh Jon, I asked my guitarist about borrowing his amp and he is willing to but I could tell he was kind of hesitant about letting it out of his sight. He and his amp are deeply, passionately in love. So I was thinking if Holli has one she can lend (she said that, right?) that might be a better option.

OK, thank lisah. I understand. I'm also going to need a straight mic stand. My theremin has a fitting that allows it to mount on one. Have you got one of those you can spare, that no one is emotionally attached to?

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Yay Lyra Jane! You have a copy of the contract as well, right? Do we know how much the bartender will be?

So no one knows exactly where the Prom will be?

Shit's all sorts of different now.

I'm getting a compact (like a Ford Focus) so there may be luggage on your laps.

It sayd compact, but as a former owner of one, the trunk is HUGE. Provided you are getting a 4 door and not the hatchback. So much room.

I have one and will gladly lend it to you! I like it but I don't LIKE like it.
