We used to do that in college. The karaoke bar hated us. We had some phenomenal voices. We did a hilarious one once with Milli Vanilli where two people got up and did the dance, while two other people sang in the background.

It was pretty bizarre. We're in this dingy barn of a place, just a few drunks occasionally doing Patsy Cline or Willie Nelson songs, a couple of tables of us, and the QMT students being awesome. It was a strange night, but fun.

Why do you ask?

I was considering taking the train to Philly Friday morning to visit my corporate office there. I work very closely with some of the folks out there and wsa interested in swinging out there to meet tham and thought maybe I could hitch a ride with you back to DC. But then I thought..."I'll be on vacation. Why would I want to pay money to travel to work?"

It's the Liberty Bell. It calls to us. 'Mmmm, crack, get the good crack here', it says, because it thinks that's just hysterical. Which can't hold a candle to the Statue of Liberty's "Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, 'cause I'm-a bitch-slap every last one of 'em". To clarify: I was on the phone w/ reservation lady, begging her to check the block again. She says, "I can get you a $126 rate, but you can't cancel the room. You card would be charged some time between now and then. This is actually an Internet special..."

So I did it over the phone. I guess you can hunt around on the website or just call and ask. I don't know when the cutoff date for that rate is.

Oh, and hi amych!!! amyth and i are driving up Friday morning and there are two spots in Darla if you and/or calli want to come with. Darth has a play, unfortunately.

I do really want to spend two of the days there doing DC stuff - the Mall, and parts of the Smithsonian. I really wish I was going to be there longer, and had more time to do DC stuff, but Buffistas need to fit in there somewhere.

Also, Anne.... I think I've gone and double-booked myself for Thursday night, with both you and meara (I lost track of my exact plans some time ago).

I know my plane is coming in pretty late Thursday, almost midnight or something, and it's coming in to BWI, so maybe I should stay with you, as I imagine it will be a little easier for you to stay up and come get me.

We'll figure it out over the next few weeks, and nail something down.
