Boromir, at the Council of Elrond: "One does not simply walk into Mortor..."
Aragorn: "Mordor."
Boromir: "What?"
Aragorn, placating: "It's Mordor. With a D."
Boromir:
t a moment of WTF?
"One does not simply walk into Mordor..."
Frodo: "Um...yes, you do."
Boromir: "Shut up! No, you don't!"
Frodo: "Yes, you do. You totally do."
Boromir: Nuh-uh! You need...like...an army. With, like...Ninjas...and...um...Wizards! NINJA WIZARDS!"
Gandalf: "I'm a wizard!"
Boromir: "Yeah, but you're not a ninja."
Gandalf:
t looks sad and ninja-less
Boromir, clearly warming to his subject: "Maybe some bears too...Bears that shoot laser beams out of their eyes... Oh, man, that would be so FRICKING AWESOME!"
Frodo, Gandalf, and Aragorn:
t look WTF?-ish
Boromir:
t looks sad and then freaky, due to judicious Photoshopping
(Dana, I keep admiring your tagline and not finding a space to ask you about it. Where's it from? For some reason, it makes me think of Sam Seaborn, but that could be my lastest fandom conversion showing.)
(For the record, Dana's tagline is: "She looks at me and she says, "I wish I was a lesbian." Now at that point, I wanted to say, "You mean you wish you *were* a lesbian," because gramatically...but I let it slide. I didn't want to ruffle any feathers.")
Heh. Not Sam, although I can kind of see that too. It's from a song called "I Wish I Was a Lesbian" by Loudon Wainwright. You can listen to a sample here, where it's listed as "IWIWAL", although only the Amazon audio format seems to be working.
Poor Boromir, always the buttmonkey.
Poor Boromir, always the buttmonkey.
Now I'm picturing Sean Bean saying "The dark master....bator."
Thanks, Dana. It keeps making me smile, and I keep thinking of it at random moments, especially after my English class had a moderately long debate over the was/were thing the other day.
THANK you, Dana. The funniest LotR-related thing I've seen lately may actually have been posted here. It was a still of Boromir at the CoE, with his hand in a, um, circular gesture and leerish expression, captioned, "Wanna blow the Horn of Gondor?"
Now where did I see that?
Yeh, I just loved it so much I rushed right over and posted it without looking to see if it already had been. Oh well. It's good to know that a fine sence of humor is universal.
Yes it is. Especially when ninjas are involved. And laser bears. But especially ninjas, because they make everything cool/funny.
My trilogy holder thingy arrived! (I'm sure it has a better name -- I just can't remember what it is.)
Now, where to put them where they are both on display and easily accessible to watch?
