I believe that the comment is also in the cast commentary.
LotR - The Return of the King: "We named the *dog* 'Strider'".
Frodo: Please, what does it always mean, this... this "Aragorn"? Elrond: That's his name. Aragorn, son of Arathorn. Aragorn: I like "Strider." Elrond: We named the *dog* "Strider".
A discussion of Lord of the Rings - The Return of the King. If you're a pervy hobbit fancier, this is the place for you.
Was watching some of the extras last night on disc 3. One of the funnier things I saw was at the end of the Weta Workshop documentary, when Richard Taylor and Alan Lee put what look like whips into their back waistbands and start dancing around wiggling their "tails"--as low key as Lee is, it was pretty funny to see him goof around like that.
Also on that doc, listen to the music playing in the background. The Gondor theme is playing throughout the description of the armor and helmets for Faramir, et al, until Billy says, "And then there was my helmet," and the music dries up in a fast downward spiral. As Billy talks about the problems that he had with his helmet, there is absolutely no music playing until the next segment of the doc.
The cast commentaries were amusing. I especially liked David Wenham's rant about the crappy horse he was given, along with the revelation about his nickname, which may or may not have been Dom and Billy BSing at DW's expense.
My favorite bit of the cast commentaries, though, was Bernard Hill's voiceover about what Theoden was most likely thinking when they left Edoras.
Got RotKEE for Christmas. Now, I must go back and read all the white font. On initial viewing, I was not as pleased as with the other two EE versions. I may need to purchase the theatrical version of this one after all. I did like the House of Healing scene, but it was too short, IMHO, and upon reflection, AnotherAlaskan was correct in our conversation, when he said that what Aragorn was doing looked too much like normal nursing.
I got ROTKEE & Firefly for Christmas. This is the best 'Best Buy' Christmas ever.
me=happy
eta: but I apparently can't spell
Nigh onto perfect, beathen!
Also, I love the Liv Tyler song, but I am so bummed that it is not on the soundtrack.
I bet it'll be on the EE soundtrack.
There are EE soundtracks?
Supposedly they will be coming out in '05.
Anne,
If Dom and Billy riffed on David Wenham's nickname being Daisy they weren't bsing.
I heard it on the do NOT mock meVan Helsing commentary. Apparently, David is well-loved and sadly monikered.
