Oh my god. What can it be? We're all doomed! Who's flying this thing!? Oh right, that would be me. Back to work.

LotR - The Return of the King: "We named the *dog* 'Strider'".

Frodo: Please, what does it always mean, this... this "Aragorn"? Elrond: That's his name. Aragorn, son of Arathorn. Aragorn: I like "Strider." Elrond: We named the *dog* "Strider".

A discussion of Lord of the Rings - The Return of the King. If you're a pervy hobbit fancier, this is the place for you.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Bundy:

One of the best experiences I had watching the LotR movies was seeing the EE of TTT at Raquel's. The audience was wonderfully snarky, so it was almost like seeing a Mystery Science Theater 3000 version of the film.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

I love the aaaahhhhOOOOOOOOGAH! for the Eye of Sauron. And a Buffista snarkfest MSTK-3000 would be affectionate enough to be fun.

I still can't watch "Flash Gordon" without incorporating the snarky comments of the couple who sat behind us when we saw it in the theatre. When we watched it later on tape, we were disappointed, until we remembered that just because their snark was part of our movie experience? Didn't mean it would be part of the actual movie.

We snarked with affection. We even had the dwarf anti-defamation league, ironically enough in the form of a 6'3" man.

I wish I was going to be anywhere near a concentration of Buffistas this December for a ROTK snarkfest.

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

Every time I watch the scene in FOTR with Saruman and Gandalf walking through the forest around Isengard, and Saruman says "TIME? What time do you think we have?", I always want to say "TIME?! Time is what turns kittens into CATS!"

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I always want to say "TIME?! Time is what turns kittens into CATS!"

Do you want to say it or do you actually say it?

Hee! Sorry.

For some reason I also twitched to David Warner in "Time Bandits".

"Nipples for men?! If I were Iluvatar I would have started singing lasers...eight o' clock, day one!"

Heh. Depends on where I am and who I'm with, and whether I choose to make my ubergeekiness known to all. (Look, everyone knows I'm a geek. But sometimes I like to take it that extra step.)

Well, the guy in question's a Pratchett fan also, so if I'd known this line to use he'd've laughed...but alas, I am Pratchett-deficient.

I watched FOTR again over the weekend, or actually had the EE in the DVD player with the actor's commentary track on. I was so stunned that they got Nigel Tufnel to do commentary! Then I realized that was Orlando.

Thank you for the best laugh I've had all day, Raquel.
