LotR - The Return of the King: "We named the *dog* 'Strider'".

Frodo: Please, what does it always mean, this... this "Aragorn"? Elrond: That's his name. Aragorn, son of Arathorn. Aragorn: I like "Strider." Elrond: We named the *dog* "Strider".

A discussion of Lord of the Rings - The Return of the King. If you're a pervy hobbit fancier, this is the place for you.

I was going to admit this as part of the accent discussion in the Minear thread - but there for a while after hearing Billy on the audio commentary for TTT - I seriously thought I might have to move to Scotland in order to find an adequate man. God I love that accent.

I am not afraid to post that here. You all know of (and many share in) my completely insane hobbit obsession.

And yes, wanting the RotK EE very badly.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Tina, on the interview tape, he says hello to me. I played that 2-second clip so. many. times.

I only wish my name had an 'r' in it. He's got such lovely 'r's...

Dude! Jess - I just realized that was you!

Name changes - they are of the confusion-making sometimes.

he says hello to me.

Oh.My.God. Yeah. That might get a couple rewinds from me.

insane hobbit obsession.

If they didn't want us to lust after them, they wouldn't have made them so fricking sexy, hot and yum.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

Damn straight.

brillig

OK, other people discussing "Merry and Pippin are gay" isn't nearly as amusing as when it gets discussed here. Especially when the people doing most of the talking knew nothing about hobbits before seeing the movie. "I heard it was because Merry and Pippin are brothers." That one I had to correct.

Oh - speaking of hobbit obsessiveness. I forgot to mention that there is already an unoffical fan site for the new JJ Abrams tv series Lost that Dom will be in. It's got a very unfortunate background color. Shield your eyes and see it here if you like.

Daniel Day Kim (from AtS) is also part of the cast.

ABC doesn't announce whether it will be picked up until May 12 - but considering it is the most expensive pilot ever shot, I'm thinking it has a pretty good chance.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

God I love that accent.

Elizabeth Taylor said that the best thing about being married to Richard Burton was that he'd read to her in bed at night. Admittedly, a Welsh rather than Scottish accent, but the notion applies.

People, I can revert to my native Scottish accent any time you want.

Just as well I don't find Scottish accents sexy myself, really, or I'd never get anything done.

S to the A -- using they/them pronouns!

(Morgoth's Ring was Arda (the Earth) itself, meaning that Mogoth had his power tied to the physical world).

Thanks Jeff.

It was amusing to watch on livejournal--as soon as it was announced, there were like thirty posts on my friendslist, all about Lost and how to support Lost and ooh, DomDomDom!
