I kissed him, and I told him that I loved him. And I killed him.

LotR - The Return of the King: "We named the *dog* 'Strider'".

Frodo: Please, what does it always mean, this... this "Aragorn"? Elrond: That's his name. Aragorn, son of Arathorn. Aragorn: I like "Strider." Elrond: We named the *dog* "Strider".

A discussion of Lord of the Rings - The Return of the King. If you're a pervy hobbit fancier, this is the place for you.

Art Crawl!!!

Gil-Galad didn't rule until after the death of his father -- I don't know when that was.

I was charmed (albeit somewhat perplexed) by the fannish sensibility of many of the music choices -- it's like the director was trying to vid Canada. --loligo on the Olympic Opening Ceremonies

Didn't Gil-galad take over pretty much as of the drowning of Beleriand?

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Turgon (G-g's daddy ahd hey! original owner of Glamdring! How about that?) died in 511 First Age, Thranduil left Lindon some time in the Second Age. So sayeth Foster, anyhow.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Frodo and Sam aren't on my cutie! list, but the Orc costumes pushed 'em real close.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

Just got done watching Charlie Rose, where he spent 25 minutes on RotK with Elijah Wood, Sean Astin, and Andy Serkis. A very smart promotion for Academy members to watch (their ballots are due next Saturday), since they first discussed Peter Jackson and why he was a good director on set and his dedication to the pictures, and then went into the visual effects aspects of Gollum, and then the relationship between Frodo and Sam. All of the clips shown (except for the trailer) focused on the Frodo/Sam/Gollum storyline, and were well-chosen for Oscar material for EW and SA. No veering into war discussions, as happened last year with Viggo.

The rest of the hour is being spent with Alec Baldwin, who's shilling for his own BSA nomination for The Cooler.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

I caught the Baldwin, missed the earlier part. Dammit.
