Trajan, people, Trajan. Who was Spanish, and thus the first non-Italian emperor.
(Tacitus was an historian, he wrote Germania, which should be subtitled, "How people from other places are weird, and Germany is dark and gloomy and barbarous, and arent' we lucky to have the Italian Riviera?")
Tiberius was actually quite a competent emperor, but his private life didn't bear close examination.
Yeah, I was mostly flailing for Roman Emperors beginning with "t". Say, do Eastern Empire honchos count? There's probably a Theodore-ish one or two from Byzantium.
Huh. The one I saw looked like C-Span BC. Might have to watch another one.
I only got into Roman history because of I, Claudius (the miniseries--haven't read the books yet).
Tiberius, on his mother, Livia: They say a snake bit her once...and died.
Trajan has an architectural something named after him. A column, perhaps?
Yes, Trajan has a column and a forum.
I think Trajan also is a font-- a sort of all caps, roman looking font.
Ooh, and an arch which is (apparently) no longer around.
