Look, Angel, I know you've been out of the loop for a while, but I'm still evil. I don't do errands...unless they're evil errands.

We're Literary 2: To Read Makes Our Speaking English Good

There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

It is called Thud! Who would have Thunk it?

Thud is the name of the Discworld version of chess.

Mr. Pratchett is going to be doing a reading in Seattle on the last Tuesday of this month, and you better believe I'm attending.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Pterry is doing a reading in the DC area on Tuesday, which I can't attend because of dance practice. Ah, well, at least I got to hear him read from Thud! at Interaction in Glasgow...

As much as the Vimes-Vetinari show gives me great joy and satisfaction, isn't it about time for another Death or Granny Weatherwax story?

Or Cohen. That guy slays me.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

As much as the Vimes-Vetinari show gives me great joy and satisfaction, isn't it about time for another Death or Granny Weatherwax story?

Oh, yes. Even though Granny does show up in "A Hat Full of Sky," it's not enough. Actually, I'd love to see what happened if Granny and Vimes ever met each other.

If I only had a brain...

One long hard stare and an unspoken mutual nonaggression pact, with a backup of "But don't try anything."

Heck, Lady Sylvia and Nanny Ogg, with Nanny Ogg cooing over Baby Vimes.

Nanny Ogg and Vetinari! Because Vetinari and Granny Weatherwax would just stare at each other, raise eyebrows at each other, then go their separate ways.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I've never read any Pratchett where is a good place to start?

hmmm, "Carpe Jugulam"? "Men at Arms"? The first one features Granny Weatherwax and the various witches of the mountain country, and the second one is a good intro to Captain of the City Watch Vimes and the wide-open city of Ankh-Morpork.

If I only had a brain...

Oh, God, Nanny Ogg trying to seduce Vetinari on general principle.
