I'm reading "Tale of Two Cities" for the first time. You know, this Dickens fellow has quite a way with words. I think he'll go far.

We're Literary 2: To Read Makes Our Speaking English Good
There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."
Dickens is so much fun. Wait till you get to the climax, with Miss Pross! I just love the name, Miss Pross, and the fact that she is a stout, indefatigable, middle-aged handmaiden makes it that much more enjoyable. (I am sure, unless you're on page 2, that you've already met Miss Pross.)
Well, page 30, with the banker and Miss Manette. But I'll look for Miss Pross.
I always had the vague idea that I kind of liked Tolstoy, but I'm reading "The Kreutzer Sonata" and hating it.
Craziness.
OK, I'm done with Smoke and Shadows. Any Tanya Huff fans around who haven't bought a copy yet and would like one?
What series is that in, Matt?
What series is that in, Matt?
I'm not Matt, but I can tell you that it's tangential to the Blood series, in that the main character is Tony, who is Henry's sometime partner/food source.
(sorry, if that's not coherent, I'm a little tired)
OK, I read Curse of Chalion in one day, and have just ordered Paladin of Souls. Damn. I'd given up on there ever being good fantasy again.
Memory jog: This article [link] reminds me of a short story where this guy builds a dancing automaton, and its partner can't get out of its embrace and dies. Sort of a modern Red Shoes. Is this familiar to anybody? I thought it was maybe M.R. James or Le Fanu.
