That's the series that they're making a movie with Viggo Mortensen as Alatriste.

We're Literary 2: To Read Makes Our Speaking English Good
There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."
Why is it that the IMDB has this site site listed as the official site for Alatriste when the site clearly says that it is NOT the official site for either the books or the movie about Captain Alatriste?
Am I not reading the Spanish correctly?
I think this may be the ultimate Bitch romance. [link]
Oh, and besides turning her into a convincing man, they also take the extra precaution of hiring only gay pirates as their crew. Yes, you read right. A ship literally filled with asspirates. Except for the gunner and his companion, Sally, who is a goose. Yikes. But what’s a little bestiality between pirates, especially with a well-dressed goose who understands spoken English. And spoken pirate English.
Darlene Marshall, Pirate's Price.
[and Sumi, your Spanish is just fine. That is not the official site.]
Advice needed:
My husband is reading George R.R. Martin's Wild Cards series, which he really enjoys. He is on book 4 and I have been able to find books 5, 6 and 12 through abebooks. Books 7-11 seem to be much harder to come by. Does anyone have any extra copies lying around or know of a stash that someone might be trying to get rid of?
I think that Tor is re-releasing the books, but not fast enough.
Megan - I think I noticed them at my local bookstore the other day, used for 2-3 bucks. However, I must warn you, everything after about #5 or 6 was crap. If you want, tho, I can double check if they have them in.
Megan, I think I used to have #8 or #9 in the series. I'll look through the pile o' books at home this weekend and see if it survived my last move.
Thanks Gandalfe and Matt. Gandalfe, if they have #7 that would be great. Matt, I'll pay postage if you have them.
No worries about that. If I do still have the book (and it's just one, I don't remember if it's the eighth or the ninth) it's liable to be in somewhat rough shape though.
I meant to go check if my ordered copy of Smoke and Shadows had arrived at the local bookstore yesterday. But the employee who seemed to be on call in the book section was the same one who was hovering around me and reaching across my line of sight to reorganize magazines in the rack I was standing in front of, so I decided to come back and deal with a non-idiot at a later date.
Megan, I'll check there on the way home and let you know for sure which ones they have tonight.
Thanks much. I will pay all relevant charges etc. =)
