I was shocked by that news. When her book
The Rape Of Nanking
came out, there was a great deal of publicity about it in the Bay Area. Both for the book, and the historical event - which had gone surprisingly under reported in the west. Hers was the first book on the subject. Anyway, it looks like it was a suicide. With a shotgun, no less.
