Dang, missed the Bujold palaver when it was fresh. I will confess a great disappointment when I discovered that she was thinking of being in the romance genre. The notion that an author is targeting a marketing niche disturbs me. I think I get the reality that a product has to be a recognizable commodity to be attractive in the market.
I just wish this did not apply to my reality escape.
How not to have your review start.
On Page 303 of Susanna Clarke's elephantine first novel,
Sheesh -- how nasty of Janet Maslin!
No no, she means the novel never forgets.

I think she means it communicates over miles at a time at subsonic frequencies.
It's endangered due to the high amount of poaching.

I'm chockful of
Crown of Stars
love right now. I'm towards the end of the fifth book which is making me sad because we're heading towards something. . . something that probably won't happen until the next (and supposed final) book. And that book isn't out and I can't find (although I haven't really tried) when it might be coming out.
I know that people here prefer the Jaran books. I haven't read those in ages. I only have three and I believe that there are four. (I see this is a growing habit of Kate Elliott's.)
Film studios are already trying to get the rights to
Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell.
