I like the way the walls go out. Gives you an open feeling. Firefly is a good design. People don't appreciate the substance of things. Objects in space. People miss out on what's solid.

We're Literary 2: To Read Makes Our Speaking English Good

There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Aren't there a bunch more Borderland anthologies out there?

Yes, and a fantastic Borderland novel by Emma Bull.

And doesn't Micole have a story in one of them?

Really? Neat!

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Jilli! Is it really reallly you?

Yes, and a fantastic Borderland novel by Emma Bull.

And two fun Borderland novels by Will Shetterly.

She does, Jilli, in the last one, The Essential Bordertown. It's quite good.

I can't even.

Love Borderland. (See Boyett ravings previous, his story was the scene setter in the first anthology).

She does, Jilli, in the last one, The Essential Bordertown. It's quite good.

How cool! And of course, I'm AFB, so I can't just go look to guess which one. But, I have google.

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

Thanks for the link, JSw. Looks like I got the second anthology, not the first. Should I wait to read the first before starting the second, or does the order not matter so much?

The order doesn't matter so much, although some of the characters are repeated. Others aren't. I think you'll be fine.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

Can anyone give me a good reason to finish the latest Laurell K. Hamilton Merrie Gentry book, Seduced by Moonlight? I'm usually a bit obsessive about finishing books I've started, but I think if I read very many more descriptions of hair and magical orgasms, my head is going to explode.

Always Anti-fascist!

Um, if you finish, you can get on with your life? Now, I've not read the book, so maybe you want to hear it gets better later or something, but I can't help there.

If I only had a brain...

Not me. Life is too short to read unenjoyable bad books. If they aren't fun, they've lost their raison d'etre.
