Jilli, I don't know if anyone's recommended them yet, but Barbara Hambly has a couple (at least) of really good vampire books out, one is called "Traveling With the Dead" and I can't remember the other.
Those Who Hunt the Night. Yep, got 'em both. They are part of the collection that other vampire books get judged against.

Are her books out of print? Because I couldn't find her or either of the titles mentioned listed on Amazon.
Actually, I lied about the not sexy part, or at least didn't state myself properly- the vampires themselves are sexy, but there's not a lot of vampire sex. Mark- I don't think she's out of print. I usually just get her from the library. She has a ton of great stuff though- love her! I know she's published stuff quite recently, but the vampire ones are older.
