Speaking of movie adaptations, according to teenhollywood.com Keira Knightly is slated to star as Elizabeth Bennet in a new movie version of Pride and Prejudice. I don't know what to think... feeling a little trepidation, but also felt it with Paltrow playing Emma, and that turned out pretty good... then again the '95 miniseries is one of my faves (coincidentally in the middle of watching it for, like, the 100th time), so then again maybe it won't turn out so good.
We're Literary 2: To Read Makes Our Speaking English Good
There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."
uhhh... I think I killed it... oh well, off to finish P&P (Colin Firth... drool). Have a (insert adjective of choice here) weekend all.
Hmm. Trying to be open-minded, but can't imagine anything replacing the '95 miniseries as the OTP&P adaptation.
I have just spent over $200 on books in the Dealers' Room at Malice Domestic. There are still two days left of the con.(I'm commuting as it is in Arlington, VA) Help me.
Just finished Val McDermid's The Mermaids Singing. ita, did you say you didn't realize the author was a woman? That's funny in light of the big reveal in the book, huh?
Gah! Can't read the white font, since the book is lying at my feet, currently unopened.
This weekend. Will complete.
Oh, funny. I figured that was the first one you read, since isn't it the first one in a series?
Yes, it is. But I've started watching the series in the middle, so I figured I'd just read whatever I found.
I have seen the episode based on it, but I'm so curious about the differences between it and the book that I want to go in quasi-fresh.
If you've seen the show based on the book, you should be able to read the whitefont without fear.
The book totally kicks ass. Now I have to see if my friend who works for the publisher can hook me up with more.

Ha! Yes, that's a very good point, Jesse.
I read Kickback, and kinda didn't like it. The heroine is too self-conscious. I never wash my short blonde hair, if you get my meaning -- her first person POV seemed too external. I am still reading Blue Genes, though. It's my car book.
