Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Jason may well have a serious credit line

I thought he took the job at the high school because he got cut off.

It was weird -- like he left Lana's apartment that morning, and called her from Shanghai at noon, no worries.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I thought he took the job at the high school because he got cut off.

"Cut off" is kinda vague, though. He could have had his income cut off and had the sense to get a job rather than live on his own credit cards until they were maxed out. Or it could be he lost all access to funds -- real and credit-- and this is just more of SV's famous continuity.

Cut off is my vagueness in statement, not theirs. What I took from the ep was that he was left to fend on his own. They didn't state losing the credit cards -- it's just part of the 'TV financial abandonment' package default in my head.

I seem to remember Jason's fiscal situation being described about as vaguely as "cut off". Although my memory is hindered by the fact that I'm attempting crochet during the show and watching with other folks, and sometimes our mocking can get in the way of catching every word.

Art Crawl!!!

I think that Lex must have paid Jason's way. I have no idea how Lana and Clark got there. Boy, those Kansas farm boy allowances must be bigger than I realized.

It was a fun episode. Very amusing. I thought that the person that Swann said had the stone was the Margot Kidder character.

ION, BSG!!! Season 2!!!! This Summer!!!!

How could Jason sneak off to Shanghai with Lex paying his way?

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Jason killed a guy and stole his money.

Hey, it could happen.

Maybe Jason has had a night job as a male stripper for a while and paid for his flight via tips.

Art Crawl!!!

Maybe Jason's job as a researcher for Lex includes enough travel money that he could do that.

GS: If you had to choose between kicking evil in the head or the behind, which would you choose, and why? Minsc: I'm not sure I understand the question. I have two feet, do I not? You do not take a small plate when the feast of evil welcomes seconds.

Thanks, P-C.

I don't know about Isabel being cooler than Lana. She's certainly not any smarter. Here, let me charge up two weapons with magical-Clark-hurting energy, then throw one into him, which granted hurts him, but also gives him a weapon and lets him know not to let himself get hit by the other one. You know, instead of just charging up one sword and hacking at him, or just continuing to blast him silly with those lavender rays of doom.
