OK, I know I'm being really lazy here, but ... me, too, Katie, iff'n I didn't express it that way before. The DVDs are on my wishlist and all. But it's a more comforting kind of love. Ya' know, the kind of show you can count on to be there for you in its way, and it's all good. Like a nice, easy-going good pal you wouldn't trade for the world. I can get excited about it, but I don't think I could ever be disappointed in it. It'd have to try REALLY hard for that.
Boxed Set, Vol. 1: Smallville, Due South, Farscape
A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much anything else that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
The slump in quality can sometimes be a blessing, though. I was able to let Buffy and Farscape go because my enjoyment of both had paled compared to the feeling I had early in their runs. If "Graduation Day Pt. 2" had been the last episode I would have been among those snerked-about fans taking a header from the rooftop with SMG picture in hand.
Yeah, good point. It does make it easier to say "okay, I'm ready for this to be over now."
The new schedule, as far as i can tell, for Stargate on Sci-Fi as of Monday is thus:
M-F 6pm ET: Season 4
Monday, 7-11pm ET: Season 1
Friday, 7, 8, 10pm ET: Season 1
Friday, 9pm ET: Season 7
My god! I love Jonas! The way he twigged our lovely Sam to the answer!
Yeah, that was pretty cool. "I knew you'd come up with something." I kind of wish they'd kept him too -- it's not that he was bad; actually he was kinda cool! But people aren't snowmobile parts!
Exactly. To me it's the difference between seeing someone die after a long painful illness vs. a sudden death when they'd seemed perfectly healthy. At the end of its run BtVS was like an old dog who'd developed arthritis and kidney problems and was losing teeth and could barely move, so finally it was put to sleep. It's not like it was a playful young puppy full of potential who got hit by a car - that's more of the "Firefly" experience.

Except it still had really hot superchicks. Where are the hot superchicks in your analogy, I ask you?
Even an old dog can still attract the ladies out on walks, especially during the last days when it's in one of those dog-walker devices.
Bah. I missed the "Redemption" 2 parter. Actually the weekend syndication from the week before last was recored as "Redemption part 1" in my TiVo, but turned out to be the season 5 ender, "Revelation". And the TiVo didn't change the channel with this past weekend's showing, so I got the second half of "Red Violin" on Bravo instead of Stargate. I didn't get too broken up about it, since I share Katie's mellow stance where the show is concerned.
The good thing is, whoever's producing the SG DVDs have been churning them out season-after-season fairly promptly. I now have the shiny S4 DVDs in my hot little hands. I love the season 4. "Window of Opportunity" and "2001" rank up there in my top 5 SG episodes, ever. Plus, commentary track on every single episodes! Woo-hoo!

I guess I'm just having trouble with the sex appeal portion. What it comes down to is... where's Faith in this equation? Or is she like the still-functional dog organ that can be donated? Do they have pet organ donation? I guess they would... monkeys anyway, but animal-to-animal? That'd be nice; the spirit passes, but the parts serve other dogs...
Oh. Sorry. Shutting up.
