Danger is my middle name, only I spell it R. u. t. h. - Tina Belcher.

There was one ep of the original BSG where Apollo was monitoring random space noise listening for signals that would steer them towards civilization. At the very end of the episode, right after Starbuck had lured him away from his post, there was a sudden clear burst signal of a NASA Apollo mission transmission.

OH! I'd forgotten about that, quester. Which would peg Original Galactica as occuring looooooong after modern times.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Didn't OBSG go to Earth in some eps? Was there time travel? When was it when they arrived? Dream sequence?

If they did, that's gone and slipped my mind entirely. I only remember awful Galactica 1980 actually on Earth.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

There was an arc where Galactica found a planet called Terra, which was Earth-like, but they discovered it wasn't really Earth.

In the Galactica 80 series, the guy who played all grown up Boxey was Kent McCord, who also played Jack Crichton in Farscape.

Ooh! I knew Kent McCord was in the series, but I'd forgotten he played Adult!Boxey.

All is well that ends in pizza.

Per the mini-series, Kobol is where they all came from and Earth is a legendary thirteenth colony.

Humans are from Kobol, Cylons are from Fortran.
