Well, here's what I've been wondering if I'm getting right about Aquarium: they need the zm to permanently (relatively) power the city's shield, right? And they need the shield to protect the city from the impending Wraith onslaught. But, yeah, even as I'm typing this, I see that there's a problem. If they had to use the zpm to power the shield, they could still probably plug it into the gate for a homeward bound trip at least once, even if they weren't willing to just abandon Atlantis altogether to get away.
Yeah. Never mind. I don't know. Maybe the city has a Magical Sticking Oulet for a zpm that powers the shield, so they wouldn't be able to disengage it (once they got it just in time to save them from the Wraith ships), and then they'd all be "You know what? I'm so over zpm hunting every damn day. We're here; we're safe. Screw Earth. They've got evil alien issues and no shield."
Or something like that. Mmm hmmm.
Battlestar:
Interesting point. I thoroughly enjoy his scenes wrestling with the Cylon in his brain because it's been a struggle and he's felt guilty/scared. But he did just sort of give over in that ep, didn't he? Hmmm. And randomly, the actor reminds me so much of the actor who played Julian Bashir that it's distracting at times. Her God obsession is fascinating... and I wonder what she means by the term (which, I gather, is sort of the point). I was also interested in seeing the tension play out between Starbuck and Adama over Zack/flight training. But they kind of wussed out on that by putting her in imminent peril of her life so soon. Or maybe they haven't and they'll deal more with it, but I didn't get that impression.
Still, I'm enjoying it. I thought the first ep (after the mini) was especially good with the tension. It's also a slight probability that I have a thing for EJO.
