"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

OMG this is just like Hot Stove stuff in baseball.

That's kind of how JJ Abrams treated the ME writing staff.

Fantasy League Genre Show (one actor per show):
Browder as lead, Alyson Hannigan as second lead, Alexis Denisof as science guy with a dark past, Adam Baldwin as the muscle, Jade Leung as disturbed killer girl, Roy Dupuis as villainous mastermind, Peter Wingfield as badass bad guy with shading....

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Hmmm, I was trying to limit one per show. I guess I could say she's from Alias or better yet, Cleopatra 2525.

Then again, I already cheated by throwing in Jade Leung from the HK movie series Black Cat. (Yet another La Femme Nikita variation, but probably my favorite iteration.)

All is well that ends in pizza.

I have a feeling this is going to be a "widely known" casting decision and at some point we may have to declare it beyond spoilerfont for the main point of the actor being signed to SG-1.

Not calling for it, mind you, just a hunch on the limits of the power of whitefont.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I'd pick Lena Olin over Wingfield as the badass bad gal with shading.

Steph, you'll do fine with no backstory (or, you know, a nice, general summary). And, you know, if you want to get a feel at all, there are about a kajillion and a half opportunities for the reruns on sci-fi. Oh, and all my squeeing? Purely the actor. Plus, talk about a shot in the arm for the show.

I'm betting USAF or some civilian capacity like Daniel, only what and why? I dunno. But I figure human from Earth.

I'm still just dee-lighted.

They should bring back Tanith.

They so should. It's possible Teal'c missed, yeah?

an overblown libretto and a sumptuous score/ could never contain the contradictions I adore

When everyone started freaking out about casting, I thought it was because of Wayne Brady, and I was very confused. (warning: link is spoilery!) But now that I know what it actually, is, I'm thrilled, so hooray! for the casting directors.

(also: Is Wayne Brady gonna have to choke a bitch? )

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I have a feeling this is going to be a "widely known" casting decision and at some point we may have to declare it beyond spoilerfont for the main point of the actor being signed to SG-1.

Under what rules *is* it a spoiler though? Along with Holli's text?

Augh. Sorry.
