Depp is an odd presence. I agree with the pretty, and the hot, but there is a weird disconnect when I try to consider Depp in the lusty wrong type way. He's like this exotic, wonderous fairy-person, mesmerizing to watch, but ephemeral in my mundane sphere. Not available for something as earthly and sweaty like regular shagging.

I'm inclined to differentiate between "pretty" and "hot", too, but I get all sets and subsets about it. There's hot (Johnny Depp today). You can have hot and pretty (Orlando Bloom). You can have hot and not pretty (Peter Wingfield). You can also have pretty and not hot (young Brad Pitt -- yes, I know opinions vary, but he never tripped my trigger). And, of course, you can have not pretty and not hot (Mojo-Jojo).

Heh. Yeah, I know. It's a me thing rather than a Depp thing. I'd feel like such a lunky McKlutzypants next to someone with that much physical grace.
Wingfield doesn't actually strike me as hot at all. He's a compelling actor and fun to watch, but I've never gotten that sizzling vibe off him that so many Highlander fans do.
At first I thought that I just liked Wingfield's characer, Methos. And I do like Methos, a lot. But I also saw PW in some other things and still found him hot. I've no idea if other Highlander fans felt the same way.
Methos is hot, and then PW was hot in other things (his last Bliss episode comes to mind), and then I read his bio, and there's no turning back. Dayum.
