Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

wear leather or slutgear, drink, dance in clubs, want-take-have, etc

See -- the leather was lame (jacket only), and they never showed him dancing.

Basically, his evil was smiling at inappropriate times.

Lame.

It's a remora, dimwit.

Well, he was still hanging around in bar, so maybe he had like a fake ID or something. And since he has to wear red or blue at all times, it was taking him a while to find red or blue leather pants in his size.

the Lamest of Lame?

Big Bad Crime Bossy Guy: "I'm the biggest crime boss in Metropolis."

Can't you just see the writers' meeting - "but how do we get the audience to really believe this guy is bad?" "hmmmmm." "HOW????"

And "How do we show Helen is a money-grubbing evil black widow?" "I know, I know! - Shopping bags!!!"

Smallville can't do evil. Which is not a good thing for a show about a superhero.

Up with the sun

Why couldn't Lionel find him? The boy's leaving fingerprints everywhere, for a start.

Do we know that he has fingerprints, though? I mean, the way people do?

Come to think of it, does he have DNA, even?

No, we don't, I don't think. But they need to show us this.

Art Crawl!!!

It's like they didn't even think that they had to address this -- leaving us to believe that the Metropolis cops are really really stupid.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Well, Evil Dr. Helen could analyze his blood, so that argues for something at least analogous to DNA that behaves in similar ways.

It's a remora, dimwit.

They might have gotten fingerprints, but if Clark's aren't on file, then it's only going to tell them which robberies were committed by the same mysterious person. And depending on the documentation the Kents got for Clark, there may be no record at all of any prints for him if they figured they were better off just never making him a birth certificate or anything like that.

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

Who was Rutger Hauer? I realized at the end that I hadn't recognized him in any of the characters.
