Maybe it was their decontamination chamber?
Boxed Set, Vol. 1: Smallville, Due South, Farscape
A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much anything else that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
If so, and it's rigged to use biological warfare on the occupants, then the builders must share my opinion of how boringly exploitative the decontamination scenes are.
Admittedly I haven't seen a decon scene in a while, but when I did, they were my second favourite part of the show (Porthos takes #1).
My objections were chiefly to how ham-fistedly they threw T'Pol and Tripp together like bickering romantic leads who only needed to be trapped in an elevator to realize that they're soulmates. Not opposed to the show putting a lot of skin on display in general.
Maybe they'd win me over if they had Phlox seal Tripp in against his protests and showed Reed spritzing with one of those breath-freshener atomizers in the background.
but in a "Wow, it actually doesn't suck" way.
They switched out showrunners. There was a decent portion of last season where it didn't suck either.
dueSouth folk (there are still some of us around here, right?):

I was aware of this. I'm glad it made a difference.

It must have lost me before it got to that portion. I watched the first two seasons faithfully, if not contentedly, but I just couldn't take anymore by about 15 minutes in to the episode where the crew starts turning into monsters on some planet. I turned it off and never looked back. By sheer luck I managed to happen upon the season finale last year and it was alright, aside from the cheesy running slow-motion from explosions sequence. When I heard there was a new showrunner I figured I'd give it another shot and have been pleasently surprised so far.
It started getting better when Captain Archer started throwing bad guys into airlocks to get them to cooperate.
I wonder where he picked up that trick from?
Yeah, lots of suspicion from the Firefly community.
They still have sound in space and traditional camera work, tho.
