God, I love Lex.
I found that Lionel was written really dumb. Why would he expose his hand within a day? To his son who lifted 57 million from under his nose, from a very protected account, so NOT A DUMB GUY??? He wasn't the crafty plan-within-a-plan guy I'd come to know and revile.
As noted, I didn't like TW's acting much (Kal El redux), and I thought JG was acting like a different Clark (I wanted cross-impersonations, honestly -- I just rewatched the SG1 ep Fragile Balance, and was re-blown away by young Jack).
I don't see why Clark would suddenly know how to fight. He's never had to hit anyone more than twice, has he? If they bothered to have him unable to fight at the start, I need a precipitating incident for him to reach Lana/Lois levels of expertise. That having been said, Lionel is a strong guy, isn't he? Or was the disease that far progressed that we were supposed to ignore his workout scenes?
Also -- did Lex get the mathematician out of jail, or did old!Lois?
I wondered how Clark learned how to fight too.
Lionel is a strong guy, they did make him up to look very sickly though.
SG1 ep Fragile Balance
I think this is the only ep I haven't seen. Want.
The kid is BRILLIANT. Which isn't really helping.
Is it JoA's Luke? That's the episode, right?
He is brilliant.
If Smallville had cast it's lead for his acting ability rather than the pretty -- well, things would be very different.
Which isn't really helping.
Heh. And yet? Makes me know I have something good to look forward to. Not all bad, that.
Is it JoA's Luke?
That's the one. I just caught him on an ep of the Pretender (2000) where there's a misdirect as to which kid Jared is looking for. Of course it's not that nameless kid you suspect, J! It's the intensely familiar and charismatic one over there ... and then I placed him. And watched Fragile Balance again the next day.
He's very good, and does a marvelous job playing RDA. I liked that ep lots, and
I hope the rumors they're bringing him back are true.
Wow. That was surprisingly good. I had pretty much the same reaction as sumi: it went far better than I expected, and I was also more impressed with Tom Welling than I thought I'd be.
I do agree with ita that it was weird for Lionel to show his hand so early (yeah, have fun in that new body when you've exposed yourself to your son AND Clark's parents).
But man. The show totally pulled a "Peace Out" on me, in that I saw Margot Kidder's name in the credits but then was so engrossed by the episode it was still a surprise when she appeared at the end.
Who was the nerdy guy? I've seen him before.
Consuela, I think they need to. Every time I
watch that last scene I keep thinking "and he's just OUT there?" Then my mind goes to that fic with Sam, and I
get totally weirded out.
