Considering that the writers' grasp of spatial relationships has skyscrapers from an East Coast city visible from a small town in Kansas, you expect their handling of time passage to make sense?
And once the alarms are going off, why are you standing there like a deer in headlights instead of super-speeding yourself out the door after Bart?

With all the reference-dropping, I would have loved one either from Bart about thinking Lex has a cool voice or something about Lex putting words in the Flash's mouth.

My problem with super speed is their reflexes don't seem to match. Or maybe their reflexes aren't amped all the way up unless they're moving at speed. Was Bart coldcocked before he started to turn around? If he can navigate at the speeds he travels at, he should be able to turn any blow into a glancing one, by simply not being there anymore once he feels contact starting.

ETA: Though Flash hasn't had any speaking appearences in this season so far. I wonder if there was some kind of scheduling conflict on MR's part.

The Flash was in the Booster Gold episode -- the Zeppo-esque one. He doesn't have any lines, but the character is there.
