Jessica, yeah. Talyn!John did help build a wormhole weapon, although someone on my LJ pointed out that he needed Jack-the-Ancient to unlock the information for him to use it. Still, that sounds to me like the data is *there*.

And yeah, the beginning and a couple of bits in the middle showed us John lying on a bed on Moya, covered with a gold blanket, and looking either dead or dying. Moya looks *very* banged up, and Aeryn is angry, although we don't see her, we just hear her.

I love the looming sense of catastrophe this gives us, because at the moment, while this is all very fun, it feels a bit too familiar: of course they'll get out! They can't kill the only Crichton left! (And I doubt they will, because franchise, anyone?) But....

Vonnie, I tend to agree with you, except Gigi is ferociously popular... Maybe D'Argo? Nobody would care enough if Stark, Noranti, or Sikozu died. And I think Scorpius is still too valuable to the franchise -- unless WP decides he wants out.

On general principles, I'm ready for Stark to die.

Kiss me, my girl, before I'm sick.

No! Not D'Argo! ::sobs::

On the other hand... he did have that introspective conversation with Aeryn (admist all the gun-play. Hee.) and there's gotta be a reason they brought Jothee back. Damn.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Jess, when the second part is aired, could you fill us in on what got taken out that will be going back in (presumably) for the DVD? It sounded like you'd seen the full version early. Not a big deal if not - it sounds like we won't have too long to wait, for once.

On general principles, I'm ready for Stark to die.

I did very very much love that, in grand Farscape fashion, when Stark refuse to assist the Eidelon pass over, they forced him to do it.

And I'll be horribly upset if any of the main cast dies, but that's why I love this show. They bring the pain.

I was charmed (albeit somewhat perplexed) by the fannish sensibility of many of the music choices -- it's like the director was trying to vid Canada. --loligo on the Olympic Opening Ceremonies

I'd actually be pretty surprised if they kill a major character permanently. They've only ever done it to T!John--and they had a spare--and Zhaan, and the Zhaan-death was caused by the actress wanting to leave, wasn't it?

Sean, I was very disturbed by the scene where Stark was forced to help him over. God knows I find Stark irritating, but I got a strong gang-rape vibe from it and it freaked me the hell out.

I can fill you in on some things, but I haven't actually seen the extended version -- I only know what Sooper Seekrit Source told DH would be on there.

[eta: Vonnie, me too. Aeryn's "What have we done?" gave me chilld.]

At this point, they've killed John so many times (if you include the crystalizing as a death, the losing his head when he was a statue as a death, and Cro Magnon!John and Cranium!John from My Three Crichtons)....

Hey, speaking of which, what do people who got worked up at the crystalization at the end of the series (which was just about all of us) think of how they got John and Aeryn out of it?

I thought there was pretty much no way they could get out of it, and yet, I personally think they pulled it off just fine. Mostly because they did one of the things they do best -- ::handwavy::handwavy::

Ah, that make sense - I got the mistaken impression the screener you saw (you did see a screener, right?) was the full length version and thought it odd that they'd send that out to the press.

Still curious what you've heard, though.

Vonnie, it was totally rape. Someone on LJ drew a parallel to them cutting off Pilot's arm, and it did feel that way.

Oh, bwah. Fanaddict on LJ: in Farscape, space isn't so much a vacuum, as somewhat inhospitable. Heee!

I'd actually be pretty surprised if they kill a major character permanently.

Uh, Crais, Katie? And Zhaan, yeah. The show is over, and if they go to movies they won't have as much time for all the secondary characters, frankly. I think Chiana and D'Argo are not off the table. And it would be sneaky and underhanded for them to fake us out last night and then do it for real tonight. By which I mean, they'd totally do it.
