Jool was definitely a character that grew on me. i was sad when she stayed behind on that planet.

I also learned to appreciate Rygel for who he was.

is there a website that lists all the nicknames crichton gave everyone? if not, there totally should be.

oh and since i just finished the series i have to ask. had we seen the alien that blew up Aeryn and John before? cause...i'm drawing a blank. also? Anthony Simcoe floored me with that scene. he's amazing.

an overblown libretto and a sumptuous score/ could never contain the contradictions I adore

Has anyone read today's Foxtrot yet?

Hah!

I was pretty sure there would be a Foxtrot on it, since I still have the first one taped to my refrigerator door. All faded and stained with food grease, now...

tiggy, no, those are entirely new people. Never seen 'em before.

Speaking of Bad Timing, if anyone wants some entertainment, Searose wrote a very fun and plotty wrap-up to Bad Timing called A Rumpus, a Ruckus, and Sancho Panza To the Rescue. On the long side, and the pov is fairly slippery, but the dialog is spot on and the story moves fast.

hmm...so Kemper really is as evil as i hear he is. *g* did you see Ben last night? he was really praising the fans for being the driving force behind the mini. then after his interview was over he went out to the audience and shook hands. such a good guy.

I was charmed (albeit somewhat perplexed) by the fannish sensibility of many of the music choices -- it's like the director was trying to vid Canada. --loligo on the Olympic Opening Ceremonies

Heh. Yeah, Stealth Geek was fun. ("Any sci-fi fans in the audience?" *loud, mostly female screams* "See, you misjudged!")

I like that he outed Craig Ferguson as an old sci-fi actor too. hilarious!

such a good guy.

Wow, I just saw the download of the Late Late Show (there's one here), and could Ben possibly be any cooler? He calls Ferguson on the "hairy" crack, he can't say enough about what the fans did for the show, he brings up the whole sports-fan analogy, he goes out to the audience, and he's all manly and tough with the sharks and the race-car driving.

You couldn't invent someone to do a better job on this. He so deserves to be a huge huge star.
