Boxed Set, Vol. 1: Smallville, Due South, Farscape
A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much anything else that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Farscape is very different from the late, lamented Firefly, but it's nonetheless a worthy complement to the Joss Whedon canon.
I've always asserted that people who liked Buffy would like Farscape. Foolish are those who didn't believe me. *g*
I'm going to start all Farscape potentials somewhere in mid-season 1 (maybe The Flax or Durka Returns) because I almost lost interest in the show after watching the first 4 or 5 episodes. The grabbiness of the show didn't hit me until much later.
Also, I just finished The Way We Weren't and, just, wow. And I suspect that guy was who Aeryn dreamt about back in Rhapsody in Blue.

Yeah, that's a marvelous episode. I love it so much, and I love it that the show will have these entirely sympathetic characters make appalling decisions.
And the Pilot reveal at the end was almost a HSQ. I finally started to view Pilot as an interesting character. I hope Rygel reaches that level soon.
I hope Rygel reaches that level soon.
Heh. Rygel is one of those characters that I know I should hate, but I can't help myself -- I really dig him.
I'd have dug him a shallow grave were I in Crichton's or Aeryn's shoes. But I suppose he's entertaining at times.
Well, I'm only a smidgen into S2, but so far Rygel is more a cartoon than a character. He eats, he farts, he like shiny things. And apparently he can try and turn all his shipmates over to the PKs and all they give him is a guilt trip for it. So I'm not seeing the depth yet, but I'm betting it'll happen at some point.
Oh, I don't think Rygel is *deep,* by any means. I just get a kick out of him, though I *do* totally see how he's hateable.
That's Rygel's facade, really. We find out later that it's his coping mechanism.
