Boxed Set, Vol. 1: Smallville, Due South, Farscape

A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much anything else that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Stargate: Aquarium starts here this week. Worth it? Not worth it?

Eh. I like it okay but wouldn't be upset if it died. It has about the same level of unrealized potential as the original Stargate, without (I feel) the engaging characters. But other people seem to like the characters a great deal.

If you don't go into it expecting the next Firefly or something, and are prepared for a certain level of Deeply Stupid Plots, you'll be okay. Pretty sets, pretty special effects, mediocre writing. ::shrugs::

I'll give it a go, anyway. The first series of SG1 had the deeply stupid plots, but without the pretty sets, methinks. I reckon it'll be decided on the characters for me.

Also, there can be only one Firefly.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

I swear, I deserver a new computer from the Hensons for all the converts I've racked up.

Heh. You hooked me with the pure crack -- the final 4 of S3. I think I watched them all in one sitting, because even though I wasn't quite sure who everyone was, I had to find out what happened.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Also, looking at the bigger picture, if you will - no more Dr. Swann on Smallville. No more slyly inserted Supes themes. What to do?

Yeah, that didn't strike me immediately, but I imagine it's thrown the writers for a loop as well. I think the most obvious thing to do would be to utilize Margot Kidder's character more, letting her deliver whatever information Swann would have imparted.

Kemper says to hide the knives for the mini.

He does, do he? Good. I want 'em to continue the tradition of bringing the pain. The kind that has the hitching, hysteria-edged laughter in the face of you-gotta-be-shittin'-me.

All is well that ends in pizza.

Dean Cain isn't doing anything on TV, is he? He could play Swann's son...he'd have to have fathered him at 18, but, it could happen.

Thrive to spite them

CBS was prompting it rather heavily but I didn't realize it was a series for a long time, I thought it was a made for tv movie.

It's some baseball thing.

This weekend they showed the Lacy Peterson movie with Dean Cain, although I didn't watch enough to see him.
