Neeners at West Coast
Yeah, well... well... in the second half of the season I'll be illegally downloading it so I can see it before the East Coast!
*sniffles about not getting to watch-and-post*
I didn't like the new Weir as much either, though she had a good vibe with Daniel. Really, really liked the episode as a whole, though. When we got Serious Jack at the very end, I just wanted to hug him. I love them all so much!
Nekkid freezing goo-covered Amanda Tapping.
mmmm, Smart!Jack, building a machine to destroy the replicators!
So they just recast Weir? Okay - - I thought I was having some sort of amnesia.
I'm so excited that Steve Bacic is going to be recurring. He gets to wear silly outfits on two Scifi shows. (Well, unless they've killed him off on Andromeda because I've stopped watching.)
They killed everyone off on Andromeda, Sumi. Except wotsisname -- there are now two of them.
I love Bacic, and drooled with fangirl glee when he pleaded to stay. Can't wait to see our team's reaction to it.
I'm very happy they showed Jack with a gun in the previews for next episode. I'm not excited by his desk job, but I probably should just shut up and be grateful.
You know Jack isn't going to be happy behind a desk!
Although I'm amazed he thinks he didn't have one. How did he write his mission reports until this point?
That was fun. It was kinda goofy, handwavey Stargate, with lots of running around and no real threat anywhere. I loved the scenes at the end, where Jack goes to his team for advice (I'm much with the team-love these days), and his glee at promoting Sam. Quite sweet, really.
The new goa'uld kept reminding me of Lindsey.
Is this the first time we've heard the goa'uld talk about honor and shame? I thought they were psychotics, all about power -- why do they care about reputation? I'm just a tiny bit concerned this is leading to a retcon of goa'uld psychology that may not hold up.
Oh, also, Weir didn't seem that concerned about being alone in a room with a goa'uld, no matter how pretty. Did she not get the memo about how they can take over your body? Or kill you easily with their superior strength?

He was kidding. *denial*

Was it the goa'uld talking about that, or just Yu's First Prime? The Jaffa have always been an Honorable Alien Race (tm), if on the other side. And the goa'uld do seem to have a grasp on pride; they're very big on image.
RE Weir alone in the room with Camulus... yeah, I thought the same thing. Presumably there was constant monitoring or, um, something.

The Jaffa do it. I think the Goa'uld give lip service to it.
Or what Katie said.
