"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

You know, the actor who plays Sheppard looks vaguely like Christian Kane. He even mumbles like CK. Points in his favor, I gotta say.

Hmm. Wasn't able to catch the special - could the actor in question be Dan Montgomery Jr.?

All is well that ends in pizza.

McKay was in 48 Hours in season 5

He played the annoying slimy "smart" guy who wanted to restart the Stargate when Teal'c was trapped in it.

Kiss me, my girl, before I'm sick.

Nah, the actor is named Joe Flanigan. He doesn't look that much like CK in that pic though.

And, just to be clear, way back upthread when I said I had been accidentally spoiled about Jack's promotion , I meant, like, weeks ago on some website. Not here. Because, you know, watching the show and posting, so can't really complain about spoilage.

I am so happy to be anticipating new TV in July.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Flanigan's voice was kind of annoying, I think. Nasal.

And I think, based on those previews, that Shepherd goes through the Gate as 2IC, and Robert Patrick buys it in the pilot. That seems to be pretty obvious, because there's no way RP won't outrank Shepherd. They wouldn't cast him in a small role.

Does anyone have any dirt on why they recast Weir's part? I liked the blonde woman from Lost City better (so far).

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

I thought Louise Fletcher was brilliant on DS9. So slimily and perfectly untouchably evil.

Oh, I'm not disagreeing with that. She did such a good job, and I hated the character (as opposed to the actress) so much, that every time she showed up I hoped that would be the episode she got what she deserved.

I waited a long time for that, but it was worth it.

Her and Dukat were such a cute couple, though.

I wish RP were going to be in the series for good. He needs to be in something .

First impressions -- I think I'm leaning towards liking Sheppard as long as he's not too smart allecky right off the bat, and the Rainbow guy (I fear I will never learn his character's name, and he'll always be Rainbow to me). I like McKay already. Jury's out on the replacement Weir. I liked the first Weir a lot (don't know why she was replaced). I'm sorry she's not in it. I'm fairly certain I will not like Two Sense Alien Woman.

Also, also? I watched the tape again, and it seems I had not caught RDA making the even if it's only balsa, you're still getting wood joke about the weapons, and I about died. That is all.

ETA: On a totally unrelated note, but because I saw the ep last night ... how much would I love to see a Buffy v. Scorpius smackdown? Very much. I'd put money on Buffy.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Sigh. Hot, intense, by all accounts a gracious, gracious man.

And he may just have the Jack-love.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Wow. That's really hot, for some reason.
