Boxed Set, Vol. 1: Smallville, Due South, Farscape

A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much anything else that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

"Jeremiah Crichton" does have the benefit of more Ben Browder shirtlessness than any other episode, and some good Rygel moments. But I'd probably watch it with the sound off.

Yes, but that won't save you from the mangy badger that's eating Browder's face for most of the episode.

Oh, god, not the badger!

Now I have to go look at some miniseries promo shots to get the image out of my mind.

The things I do for fandom. *grin*

I was charmed (albeit somewhat perplexed) by the fannish sensibility of many of the music choices -- it's like the director was trying to vid Canada. --loligo on the Olympic Opening Ceremonies

Speaking of Farscape, I just rewatched The Maltese Crichton over the weekend, and why do they keep showing that episode? It's just... not good. And I seem to trip over it all the time. (Of course, the next question is "why did you rewatch it, then?")

On the plus side I enjoy the Clayvor-and-the-Scarran Show. ("He's not much of a threat to you without his head!")

"Oh no! Has falling sky liquid once again caused you the sadness?" -Starfire

I'll give it until the end of season 1 to hook me. I think part of my disappointment may be that I'm coming off the high of watching Homicide and discovering Freaks and Geeks. (I loved the first disc so much that I cancelled the rest of the series out of my Netflix queue and ran out and bought it!)

But, it's better than some of the movies I've seen recently. So I won't give up yet. I think my expectations were set too high.

Ha! It took me a little longer to love it that much, but "Beers and Weirs" is hilarious.

The status is NOT quo.

Hey, does anyone know if they ever released a box set for Farscape Season 3 or 4? I have the first two sets but have been resisting buying individual DVD's from the other seasons since the whole set is usually less expensive.

If they go on the same schedule, the box set for season 3 will be released this fall. Dunno about Season 4. It's possible they'll speed up distribution, since the miniseries is coming, but who knows for sure?

All is well that ends in pizza.

Hairy semi spoiler on Sci Fi wire about SG-1 also includes the subject of Jack in corbomite at the end of last season.

Babylion 5 Trek?

Babylon 5 creator J. Michael Straczynski told fans on a B5 Usenet group that he and Dark Skies creator Bryce Zabel have put together an idea for a new Star Trek series.
