Boxed Set, Vol. 1: Smallville, Due South, Farscape

A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much anything else that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

Damn. I knew I shouldn't have read the white font.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

Sweet!

Unintentional, though.

eta: Sorry, DX. I thought maybe it would be too much to put out there, even white-fonted.

Hey. New board.

Emily: I've managed to play around with vidding using nothing but Quicktime Pro and iMovie. It takes a little work, but if you've got a Mac I could help you with it off-board.

I'm not very GOOD at it, but that's another story.

"In the equation E = mc⬧, c⬧ is a pretty big honking number." - Scola

Alas, I'm on Windows. Actually, I've been playing around a little, but only by taking clips from other people's vids (purely for the purposes of practice! no plagiarism I promise!) and stumbling around in Windows Movie Maker. The real problem is how to get the source clips (short of taking other people's, which would be wrong) without a capture device.

But at the moment, I have a full minute of aimless vid to Cyndi Lauper! Go me!

Ah. You need dvd-ripping software. Which, um, I don't know what it is or how to get it. But that's what you need.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Or you need bittorrents.

Hey. New board.

Emily: To get the clips you can try to rip the MPEG2 of the DVDs directly to your computer. I have no idea how to help you with this on a Windows machine, but doom9.org might be able to help out. You DON'T want to reencode them to another format (such as avi) unless the software requires it, and then you'll want to encode it with the least possible loss of quality until your vid is done, no matter what.

Vidding requires lots of hard disc space. =)

S1 Daniel can really be just adorable. All excited about his little "We are from Earth" box (designed by the Saganists. Hee).

ETA: Hey - moving pictures (As in, pictures that move. They're not particularly stirring) from Stargate Aquarium. Neat.

And again: I like Thor's Hammer muchly.

Danger is my middle name, only I spell it R. u. t. h. - Tina Belcher.

I've never seen The Torment of Tantalus before. Was Catherine in any previous episode?

I was charmed (albeit somewhat perplexed) by the fannish sensibility of many of the music choices -- it's like the director was trying to vid Canada. --loligo on the Olympic Opening Ceremonies

No, I don't think so, though the character was in the movie. (Different actress.)
