No sex. Especially no creepy alien sex.
Shame on you, Katie.

General fiction. Usually means fiction where romance is not an important part, though depending on the fandom it might just mean there's no explicit sex.
Shame on you, Katie.
Hey, I didn't say I was interested in it as porn, which I am not. I'm just sayin', the idea that Thor's crushing on Jack is pretty easy to support canonically. Much easier than Jacob/Bra'tac.
Gotcha. Thanks.
Tales from the pew: We're reading something aloud in church this morning, and I mispronounce Earth as Ert. Which makes me think of Aeryn calling it Erp in the pilot. Which makes me smile, because I've linked to Farscape from the pew. And then, naturally, Farscape makes me think of Boxed Set. Which, most recently, makes me think of fanfic and J/D slash. So I get a reserved set of the giggles, 'cuz, you know, not really where I expect J/D to pop into my head (ETA: and because I am 12). And then I'm thinking, "Hey! I have that story to read when I get home." And finally, I'm like, "Right. Church. Focus."

Just hand me the can of Scrub-o-Brain, will ya?
My work here is done.
I, on the other hand, am curious about Jacob/Bra'tac.
I'm all about the Daniel/Bra'tac.
Mostly for the challenge of it, I think. I mean, have they ever interacted at all, aside from just being present in the same scene?
Well, I saw the Season 2 premiere last night (In the Serpent's Hand?), and yeah, the Jack/Daniel subtext is flying freely all over the place.
Again, I am boggled by the emotional reserve of these characters. They left Daniel behind to die, saw the ship explode, had no reason ever to expect to see him again. He. Was. Dead.
I'm sorry, if I were to see someone pop up who I was convinced was dead, I -- and let me note here, I'm fairly reserved myself -- I would squee and launch myself at them. Hugs! Affirmation of aliveness! Much yelling! (Hell, I do that for close friends I haven't seen in a long time.)
Slow smiles and sequential hugging? I don't buy it. (Although the "Spacemonkey!" thing was absurd and cute and totally fed the slashy subtext, if you chose to read it that way.)
I won't get into the reasons Jack left Daniel behind: they made no sense, and I expect there was a lot of discussion about that in the fandom when the episode first aired (6 years ago! heh). Jack doesn't leave people behind, even if he thinks it's a suicide mission. They go together.
Slow smiles and sequential hugging? I don't buy it.
Me neither, honestly. The reaction was more "Oh, I thought you were taking another job!" than "Oh, I thought you were dead!" But Stargate's weird with emotional stuff.
Ple---
I have Batgirl Year One, Batman Year One (I bought that yesterday) and another Batgirl graphic novel but I forget which one. I bought the current Batgirl comic and several back issues and I wanted to buy the current Batman but there were several different...lines...not just Batman but stuff with different subtitles and I wasn't sure what I should get.
I probably should have just got Nightwing when I was looking at it.
