I kissed him, and I told him that I loved him. And I killed him.

So Ron Moore and Robert Wolfe both worked on DS9, Wolfe went on to Andromeda, Moore went on to Voyager, and neither had a very good experience? Okay.

Just ... Jack. I dunno. I can't get myself there. Which is fine. Enjoyed the read anyway.

Well, yeah. Although the last few scenes in Meridian kinda get me there, at least enough to buy it for something as well-written as Reveille. Much of the rest, not so much.

If you like the plotty stuff, JenP, Rheanna has a couple of kickass stories on her site: good characterizations and creative concepts.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

There's a J/D story that spins off Shades Of Grey -- it was recced on this board, but I don't remember the title. I thought it slashed quite well.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

If Shades of Gray is the one where Jack is undercover, you're probably thinking of Anna S.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

A Globe & Mail story about the filming of Paul Gross's next big project, H2O, a Canadian political thriller-miniseries. Leslie Hope plays his wife....

"In the equation E = mc⬧, c⬧ is a pretty big honking number." - Scola

Just ... Jack. I dunno

I have this problem too. Doesn't stop me from reading, but it is a stumbling block to writing.

still thrilled the most with friendshippy & plotty gen with good team interactions and the subtext remaining squarely sub, but that's just me.

I think this may be me, too, at the moment, but I can get behind it for good writing, plotting, etc. Thanks for the recs, all. I'm going to check out some more of this here fanfic stuff.

Also checked out the vids. That may become a fun new semi-obsession. "Uninvited" was eerie.

They don't get much better than "Uninvited", JenP.

Although if you're getting into Farscape, Tazey makes just about the best vids around. I particularly adore "Right Here, Right Now".

I'm going to check out some more of this here fanfic stuff.

And I assume you know about PolyRecs and Bright Shiny Objects and Crack_Van, right? All multi-fandom recs sites, the first of which is Shrift and Dana's, and thus completely reliable. BSO is also good, if less comprehensive. Crack_Van is somewhat less reliable, but updated daily.

JenP - Apr 14, 2004 3:37:32 pm PDT #5149 of 10000

I can see where that would be true ("Uninvited"). I think the first one I saw was one of the Puppet!Angel ones, which, funny, though a completely different vibe. They're cool. If I were at all technically adept, I could see creating them becoming a huuuuuuuge time suck. I'll settle for the timesuck of finding good ones. Ooh, Farscape vids.

I actually didn't know of those fic rec sites, so, again, thanks.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

The lana/clark kiss? not as hot as it should have been.

Plus, too much crying from Lana. So irritating.
