Boxed Set, Vol. 1: Smallville, Due South, Farscape

A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much anything else that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

"Don't think of yourself as an organic pain collector racing towards oblivion." Dogbert to Dilbert

Getting back to the Bat-family discussion for a minute (it moves around, doesn't it)?

I assume people voted YES overwhelmingly, then?

(RE: Voting whether Jason Todd (Robin II) would live or die). Actually, the vote was pretty close. According to Comics 101, the difference was about 100 votes.

The Comics 101 website is essential reading for all of you Bat Fans, and readers of comics in general. Not only is there a 9-part examination of Batman (plus a three-part series on the animated series), there is a detailed discussion of Grant Morrison's Animal Man, Alan Moore's V is for Vendetta, and many other (mostly mainstream, though) comics. The current article goes in depth on the Hellboy comics, what with the new movie and all.

Please be aware that if you haven't read the comics in question, you could run into spoilers.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Was just a (bad) joke. Because, see, if severity of the method of killing was based on votes, and he was beaten to death with a crowbar, then it would stand to reason that it got a lot of jokes, using the logic of my joke....

nevermind....

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

For the record, if you're on acid, don't read a comic with a page like this. Just because it's in your apartment two floors down ... no, that's not a good enough reason.

Just say no.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Didn't they have Jason in a lobster outfit for the last few issues he was in?

In TV-related news, it looks like Spike TV has launched their replays of Deep Space Nine, starting at noon (EDT) today. Here is a Chicago Tribune story about their plans.

9-hour marathon sessions beginning at noon each day for this week, and 2 "uncut" episodes airing at 9:00 PM (EDT) on Fridays. After this week, the repeats will air weeknights at 7:00 PM (EDT).

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Oh, that's right.

Look, it's the episode with Q!

"You hit me! Picard never hit me!"

"Mister Spock is on his fanny, sir. Reports heavy damage."

Picard never blew people off Boston's mean streets with a 45, either. Not that he can't cause fatal injury with just an eyebrow.

It's weird to see him without his shaved head, though. I'm glad he eventually went back to it.

Apparently they were trying for Not!Hawk, and he was relieved when they finally let him play to a strength.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

Well yeah, because they were all still into the whole TNG everybody gets along and is very calm in a crisis. Born to be mild. So glad they went in a different direction later on.

Halfway to the end.
