"Woobie" was popularized by the movie Mr. Mom, I believe.

"Mr. Mom"? Was the term used simply to refer to a baby blanket or in any way similiar to how it is used in fannish context?
I'm Miss Cranky McCrankypants in a totally unreasonable way when it comes to fannish lingoes (I've been known snarl at something as mild as "OTP"), so don't mind me. I have weird fandom issues.
"Lost City Part 2" tomorrow! Finally, I'll be able to uncoil myself from the year-long spoilerphobic defensive posture. Ehh. Maybe I should just give in to temptation and start spoiling myself rotten with SG: Atlantis come next season.

Just a baby blanket. But very funny.
Aeeiii. I did not know this. That strikes me highly wrong somehow.
There's a story... okay, you can find it here, though I don't think that'll be a direct link. Corby's Paternity Test. Short and creepy.
I like that.
Yeah -- if you'll recall, the baby blanket called "woobie" was set on fire before the end of Mr. Mom. Intentionally, ceremoniously, as the child didn't need it any more.
Does Spike/JM have the woobie factor as well?
I practically died of cuteness after reading TheWoobie.
How about Michael of LFN? or of Alias? They're not weak characters, I just love to see them suffer.
Heh, so I tend to skim past the Farscape discussions, because I've only seen a few eps from Season 1, but I have at least gleaned that notion that Season 4 was maybe not so much of the good, all things considered. Today I noticed in my Netflix queue that there are little yellow shooting stars (the kind you get next to things Netflix thinks you'll like based on your ratings of DVDs you've rented) next to all the Farscape DVDs ... except Season 4. I don't know why I find it so funny that even Netflix is pfffft-ing it, but I do. Well, and, of course, it's other people's ratings that probably drive the engine anyway. I don't know, I just felt bad for them ... all their brothers and sisters got gold stars, but they didn't.
Also, tonight was the Martouf swan song ep on Sci-Fi. Talk about timing.
I just love to see them suffer.
That's probably just because you're mean.
Speaking of woobies peep this.
